The 12-race championship will visit 12 different states during the 2014 season.

The following is a press release from Feld Motor Sports:

AURORA, Ill. (July 29, 2013) – Feld Motor Sports® announced the schedule for the 2014 AMSOIL Arenacross, featuring Ricky Carmichael’s Road to Supercross. The 2014 AMSOIL Arenacross season kicks off on Friday, January 3, with two nights of racing from Worcester, Massachusetts, and the DCU Center. From there, the championship travels throughout the country, across 11 additional states before crowning a 2014 champion. Tickets will be available to the general public on Friday, August 9. Cross Club® Members, Inside Dirt Subscribers and past AMSOIL Arenacross ticket purchasers will be able to capitalize on an exclusive opportunity to purchase tickets starting Tuesday, July 30. The 2014 AMSOIL Arenacross season is highlighted by visits to every time zone in the U.S., from the shores of Massachusetts to the golden state of California. In addition to familiar stops like Baltimore and Tulsa, Oklahoma, the championship will also make its first visits to cities like Nampa, Idaho, and Hidalgo, Texas, as well as some of the country’s most popular tourist destinations like Reno, Nevada, Albuquerque, New Mexico and Salt Lake City.

On the heels of a groundbreaking season in 2013, AMSOIL Arenacross is set to once again leave its mark on 2014 with a championship battle that is sure to last all the way to the final lap in Salt Lake City. With one of the most intense race formats in all of motorsports, AMSOIL Arenacross will bring its competition to fans across the country with two main events during each night of action, head-to-head bracket racing, and the dramatic Race to the Championship, a playoff-inspired showdown to crown the champion.

“The 2014 AMSOIL Arenacross season is set to host the most competitive racing action in the history of the sport,” Feld Motor Sports Vice President of Two-Wheel Operations Todd Jendro said. “With the enhanced race format and highly talented field of athletes participating in Ricky Carmichael’s Road to Supercross advancement program, the competition will be better than it has ever been before, and we are excited to put on a great show for the fans.”

Reigning three-time AMSOIL Arenacross Champion Tyler Bowers will return in 2014 to defend his Arenacross Class crown, with his sights set on becoming just the third rider in history to win four consecutive titles. Bowers enjoyed a dream season in 2013, overcoming a potentially heartbreaking injury late in the season to not only capture the AMSOIL Arenacross Championship, but then make history by becoming the first rider to win a main event in both AMSOIL Arenacross and Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, in a single season.

“I have to say that 2013 was both the toughest season of my career and the most rewarding,” Bowers said. “The AMSOIL Arenacross season was a tough battle all the way until the end and I was fortunate that a broken collarbone didn’t end my chances at winning that third title. Once the season was over, I had the chance of a lifetime to ride in Monster Energy Supercross and managed to one-up myself by winning the last race of the season in Las Vegas.

“I have no idea if the 2014 season will be filled with as much drama and excitement as last year, but I am definitely eager to find out,” Bowers added. “I’m looking forward to the opportunity to defend my Arenacross Class title and putting on a show for all the fans who will be cheering us on.”

The 2014 AMSOIL Arenacross season will also feature a pair of regional championships in the Arenacross Lites Class. Riders committed to competing for the title in either the West or East region will battle it out for a chance at winning a coveted AMA National title and use it as a stepping-stone to more success in AMSOIL Arenacross.

Five-time Monster Energy Supercross Champion Ricky Carmichael will once again be an integral part of AMSOIL Arenacross and the Road to Supercross. The Road to Supercross program requires all amateur riders to hone their skills at AMSOIL Arenacross before making their transition to Monster Energy Supercross.

“The competition in AMSOIL Arenacross is already at an all-time high as everyone is laying it on the line each week for a shot at the title, but now with the Road to Supercross I bet we reach even higher levels with the nation’s fastest up-and-coming riders making their way through the championship” said Carmichael. “I’m really excited to see some of these rising stars go head-to-head against Tyler Bowers and the rest of the Arenacross veterans. The mix of raw speed from the young riders and experience from the veterans will result in incredible racing.

“I’m definitely not going to miss a chance at being a part of the 2014 season,” Carmichael continued. “The Greensboro and Tulsa rounds are already on my calendar, and I’m looking forward to attending additional races to meet the fans and sign some autographs.”
