The 2017 Alpinestars Tech 7S boot is specifically designed to provide protection and durability for junior and/or smaller riders, and the boot features several Alpinestars innovations to withstand the rigors of dirtbike riding.
The Tech 7S boasts a lightweight Poly Urethane-reinforced (PU) microfiber upper that is intended to be flexible while being abrasion- and water-resistant. The PU Material ensures consistent fit and is easy to maintain and clean, Alpinestars says. The upper also features a contoured shin plate injected with high modulus TPU for impact and abrasion resistance. The Tech 7S’ medial facing side incorporates TPU panel with specially designed sculpturing to provide maximum grip contact with bike and improved heat and abrasion resistance.
Inside the Tech 7S is a one-piece injected dual compound foot shell with a co-injected hard toe protector and an integrated steel shank. Alpinestars says that the shell is highly resistant to abrasion and impact, adds to the boot’s overall durability and improves its streamlining. Added flexion is provided by a low profile medial and lateral pivot system, and the Tech 7S’ instep and Achilles areas feature accordion flex zones. An extended microfiber gaiter at the top of the Tech 7S helps to seal out excessive water and dirt, and the bottom features a compound sole that is seamlessly integrated into the base. The sole is replaceable.
