It’s back! AltRider’s Taste of Dakar 2015 will take place March 13 through 15 in Pahrump, Nevada, according to information sent to us by the AltRider crew.

The event, which offers a thrilling weekend that pays tribute to the Dakar Rally, will once again be staged at the Wine Ridge RV Resort, nestled at the base of the Spring Mountain Range, in Pahrump. After setting up camp, riders will be hosted for a catered dinner and a special presentation from a guest speaker. Afterward, the party heads out to the campfire before riders turn-in, getting rest for the next day’s ride.

AltRider-Taste-of-Dakar4-2015-11122014Epic riding terrain awaits as riders head out Saturday morning across the desert just outside Death Valley–the same terrain that Dakar Rally third-place finisher Jimmy Lewis used to train for the Dakar Rally. Varied routes ensure there is something for all skill levels, from novice to rugged veteran. There will be a mid-day stop to enjoy lunch and swap stories from the first half of ride before riders saddle up for the second half of the ride in the afternoon, tackling thrilling trails that wind their way back to camp. The event will wrap with a catered dinner, followed by another crackling campfire.

Participants will again have the option of attending a one-day class put on by the Jimmy Lewis Off-Road Riding School on March 15. The course focuses on teaching riders skills to tackle off-road riding on full-size adventure bikes. The class is taught by Lewis and his expert training staff, and it is heavily discounted from the normal price.

American off-road riding legend and former Dakar competitor Jimmy Lewis will once again host a special training class geared toward Adventure riders.
