Former MAD Racing Dirt Candy Suzuki Matt Bisceglia will remain in his fill-in role aboard the Yoshimura Suzuki Factory Racing team for the upcoming High Point National in Mt. Morris, Pennsylvania, round four of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, according to the team.

Bisceglia subbed for injured Yosh riders James Stewart and Blake Baggett during round three of the series in Colorado two weeks ago, finishing eighth overall after posting 10-10 moto finishes in his Lucas Oil 450cc class debut. With Stewart and Baggett still on the mend, Yoshimura Suzuki team manager Mike Webb said that the team will field Bisceglia for another weekend.

“Matt did a great job for us at the last round,” Webb said. “James and Blake are close but not quite ready to return. Fortunately, Matt proved that he is capable of being in the 450 class, even thou Lakewood was his debut 450 National. Matt will ride with us this weekend, and we hope to have James and Blake back by next week in Tennessee.”

Bisceglia began the 2016 season under a two-year contract with the Suzuki factory-supported MAD Racing Dirt Candy Suzuki team. After finishing 10th in the 2016 Monster Energy AMA 250 East Supercross Series, he suddenly split from the team on May 27. No official reason was given for his departure, but Suzuki clearly thinks enough of his talent to have him represent the Yosh team while Stewart and Baggett remain on the sidelines.

The High Point National will be televised live on NBC this weekend.
