MX Sports Pro Racing announced today that the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing, raised nearly $30,000 to benefit the Asterisk Mobile Medical Center, an emergency care facility available at each round of the championship to racers and crew at no cost. The contribution was made via a raffle initiative surrounding the 2015 season called “Win a 450,” where one lucky recipient wins a 450cc motorcycle of his or her choice from one of the competing manufacturers in the sport.

Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship live announcer Steve “Lurch” Scott called the raffle winner live this past Saturday during the season-ending Bud Light Ironman National, from Ironman Raceway in Crawfordsville, Indiana. The winner was Darren Delozier, of Oregon City, Oregon, who selected a 2015 Honda CRF450R as his bike of choice.

“The amount of support we receive from not only MX Sports Pro Racing but the entire racing community never ceases to amaze everyone at Asterisk,” said Tom Carson, Asterisk Director of Motorsports. “We know how strong the motocross community is, but it is humbling to see how much our services are appreciated by event staff, the riders and the fans. The Asterisk Mobile Medical Center was created out of our love for the sport and the competitors who lay it on the line each week. This donation will allow us to continue to provide the very best medical care to these incredible athletes and we thank everyone for participating in the ‘Win a 450′ program.”

The bike will be made to look identical to the Team Honda HRC machines ridden by factory Honda riders Trey Canard, Cole Seely and Fredrik Noren throughout the 2015 season. The bike includes a Team Honda graphics kit and a Honda motorcycle stand.

“I was really excited to hear Darren [Delozier] chose a Honda, and it’s surreal to know he will receive a bike that looks identical to my CRF450R,” Team Honda HRC rider Trey Canard said. “Hondas are incredible bikes, and I know Darren is going to love riding it. The ‘Win a 450′ program is so meaningful to us as riders since all the proceeds got directly to Asterisk. Knowing we have such incredible care at the races ready and available at a moments notice truly gives you more confidence as a rider and the competition is as great as it is largely to the services of the Asterisk Mobile Medical Center.”

The Asterisk Mobile Medical Unit is an emergency care facility available at each Lucas Oil Pro Motocross event to racers and crew at no cost. The full 53-foot hospital trailer is staffed with qualified and experienced medical personnel and offers specialized equipment for our sport’s unique injuries. The Asterisk Mobile Medical Unit is provided to the racing community by Asterisk. Their operating budget is made possible by MX Sports Pro Racing, Road 2 Recovery Foundation, private donors and initiatives such as “Win a 450.”
