“The Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship is excited to have Pirelli back in 2017,” said Davey Coombs, President of MX Sports Pro Racing. “The brand is iconic worldwide and boasts an incredible amount of success in the history of motocross. Their commitment in racing continues to play an important role in elevating the sport for our future stars.”

With an astonishing 66 Motocross Grand Prix World Championships to its name Pirelli has experienced an unmatched record of success by winning on nearly every motorcycle brand, displacement, continent, and country throughout the world. The success has carried over to North American territory by capturing premier class wins in the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, Monster Energy Supercross Championship, and AMSOIL Arenacross Championship. The wide-range SCORPION MX lineup offers six different tread patterns and nineteen different sizes. Pirelli has spent countless hours fine-tuning and developing products that are geared toward providing peak performance, long-lasting durability, and the ultimate rider comfort in a variety of terrain and conditions.

“On behalf of Pirelli, we’re proud to continue our supporting role as the official motorcycle tire of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship,” said Josh Whitmire, Pirelli National Account Manager. “Throughout the past several seasons, Pirelli has stood atop the podium on multiple occasions, showcasing that our lineup offers products capable of winning. It’s great to see many new powersport dealers stocking the SCORPION MX range across the United States and we’re increasing our attention on the backbone of the sport by providing additional resources to local riders and dealerships across the nation in 2017.”

A local amateur motocross support dealership will be setup on behalf of Pirelli at each of the 12 events slated to take place this summer. The entire SCORPION MX lineup will be on display in the designated sponsor village area and accompanied by the presence of motocross and supercross tire specialist Doug Schopinsky. He brings decades of experience and expertise at the pinnacle of the sport and Pirelli encourages riders to seek technical advice on tire selection and guidance in setting the bike to maximize tire performance at various local tracks.

Pirelli offers a distinct advantage over the competition through its “we race what we sell, we sell what we race” mindset, which allows racers at all skill levels to purchase the exact race winning tires found on the bikes of the sports brightest stars, such as eight-time World Champion Antonio Cairoli.
