The video shows history being made as Maddison rides a specially equipped KTM two-stroke on one of the most powerful and dangerous waves on the planet, known as Teahupo’o, off the coast Tahiti. Waves breaking over the Teahupo’o reef often reach heights of over 20 feet, and they suck water back out so quickly that they create a large hollow tube similar to that of the famous Pipeline in Hawaii, only much larger. few surfers have ever conquered it.

Maddison donned his usual helmet, riding gear and boots when he rode his dirt bike into Teahupo’o. His motorcycle was equipped with a flat pan mounted to the bottom of its chassis to keep help it skim the surface of the water, and the bike would say afloat only as long as Maddison stayed hard on the gas. The video speaks for itself. Check it out!
