Yoshimura Suzuki Factory Racing has released a video that gives a behind-the-scenes sneak peak at its weekend during round 11 of the 2016 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, the GEICO Motorcycle Budds Creek National, with interim rider Matt Bisceglia.

Bisceglia’s weekend started off on a positive note when he qualified a career-high sixth in the 450cc class then put together a top-10 finish in Moto 1 despite crashing in the first turn. Bisceglia came across the finish line ninth. In the second moto, Bisceglia got off to a great start, even beating the man who would bring Suzuki its 18th AMA National Motocross Championship title, RCH/Jimmy John’s/Suzuki’s Ken Roczen, through the first corner.

However, in just his second week back from a rib injury suffered at the Southwick National, Bisceglia wasn’t in top riding shape, and his hands blastered severely, forcing him to slow his charge. Even so, he finished the day 11th overall after going 9-12.

“It was a bit of a tough day,” Bisceglia said. “I qualified sixth, which is the best I’ve qualified so far this year. I got a good start in the first moto, but crashed in the first corner. I went from last to ninth. Then I got the holeshot in the second moto and was still riding good up until maybe the halfway point. Then I struggled with my hands. They’re just super raw, and I couldn’t even hold on, but there were positives from the day.

“I’m looking forward to next weekend. My Suzuki is working so great and hopefully I can get these hands a little bit tougher before the race and just be able to go and finish the motos strong,” Bisceglia added. “It’s the last race of the year, and hopefully we can go out with a strong result.”

The Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship wraps up with the Ironman National, in Crawfordsville, Indiana, on August 27. Live coverage begins at 10:00 a.m. Eastern on www.promotocross.com. The motos can also be viewed on MAVTV and NBCSN.
