The Ratchet is constructed of a synthetic leather chassis with a split-grain leather heat shield. Its welted rubber outsole features a steel shank insert for strength and protection, while its Bio-foam lined interior and insole is designed for maximum comfort. The Ratchet also features a split-grain leather heat shield to guard against discomfort from engine heat.
The Thor Ratchet is tested and certified according to Standard 13634:2010, a European standard that covers the general design of footwear for motorcyclists. This standard includes assessments of properties such upper height and seam construction, the integrity of the whole boot, including measurement of the bond strength between upper and outsole. There is also a test of the transverse rigidity of the boot.
