Team Babbitt’s Kawasaki’s Chris Blose fired the first shot when the 2015 AMSOIL Arenacross Championship, featuring Ricky Carmichael’s Road to Supercross, kicked off Saturday night at U.S. Bank Arena in Cinnicinati, Ohio.

Blose, who will be contesting the entire AMSOIL Arenacross circuit, was the top man in a dominant night for the Babbitt’s Kawasaki team, which dominated the podium and claimed the top four spots overall. In the Eastern Regional Arenacross Lites Class, Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green rider and Road to Supercross competitor Darian Sanayei scored his first win of his professional career.

Team Babbitt’s most experienced riders, Zach Ames and Jacob Hayes, didn’t get off to the best of starts in the opener, as both men failed to transfer from their heat race. Both were forced to qualify for the Arenacross Class Main Event through the DC Shoes Defy Convention Last Chance Qualifier, but they were in the hunt when it mattered most.

Husqvarna TiLUBE TUF Racing’s Kyle Regal grabbed the holeshot and took the early lead when the first Arenacross main event got underway. Blose and ThermoTec Yamaha’s Bobby Kiniry ran second and third early, but Blose inherited the lead when Regal crashed. Blose would go on to have a capture the win easily. Kiniry finished second with Team Babbitt’s Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Matt Goerke third.

With the field completely inverted, Slakawear KTM rider Steven Mages pulled the holeshot in the second main event. Hayes, who finished 10th in the first main event, was second. Hillview Motorsports Suzuki’s Steve Roman was third. Meanwhile, Blose ran seventh, with Ames eighth, Kiniry 10th and Goerke 13th.

Hayes passes Mages for the lead on the opening lap, and Road to Supercross competitor Jordon Smith moved into second place on his GEICO Honda on lap two. But Ames was on the move, and he passed Blose made his way to third place by lap four. With Blose on Ames’ tail, the two made their way into second and third place respectively. Hayes cruised to the win, with his teammates Ames and Blose completing the podium.

Blose’s 1-3 finishes were enough to top Ames’ 3-2 finishes for the night’s overall win. Goerke finished third (2-7) with Hayes completing the Babbitt’s sweep in fourth (10-1). Kiniry rounded out the top five (6-5).

Regal topped Goerke in the Rocky Mountain ATV/MC Head 2 Head Challenge, earning an extra championship point and a $250 dollar bonus.

Blose carries a one-point lead over Ames in the AMSOIL Arenacross standings, with Goerke five points behind in third.

Darien Sanayei made it look easy as he claimed the opening Eastern Regional Arenacross Lites Class Main Event of the season. Sanayei took the lead right form the start and pulled away from his Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green teammate Mitchell Harrison. Steven Mages was third. Mages made the pass for second on the opening lap, but Spinechillers Racing KTM’s Dave Ginolfi came from sixth place to eventually take over second place on Lap 10. Sanayei took the win, followed by Ginolfi and A&Y Racing’s Daniel Herrlein.
