Michelin Starcross 5

Michelin’s StarCross series of dirtbike tires feature the company’s latest technology, and the StarCross 5 Medium Terrain Tire is claimed to offer excellent all-around performance for the track or the trail.

The StarCross 5 Medium Terrain’s casing is made with high-density materials that are said to actually reduce overall tire weight by 15 percent. The casing is made with Michelin’s Comfort Case Technology (CCT) to give the tire a plush feeling over rough terrain. The tire’s tread pattern features large center blocks for straight line performance and optimized braking traction, while its intermediate and side lugs help the tire grip in corners. The overall tread design is self-cleaning. Michelin incorporated fine horizontal tread lines to release soil and enhance traction in a range of different conditions.

Michelin also produces the Starcross MH3 for medium to hard terrain and the Starcross MS3 for medium to soft terrain. There is also a Starcross 5 developed specifically for sand. The Desert Race series is designed with off-road racing in mind, and it is the tire of choice for the multi-time SCORE Baja 1000-winning OX Motorsports Honda team. There’s also the AC10 for dual sport riders.
