Husqvarna Motorcycles today revealed its 2017 TC 50 and TC 65 two-stroke motocross models, which the company says are modeled after its full-size two-stroke motocrossers.
Both of these new models are new from the ground up, featuring compact two-stroke engines and the latest in chassis and suspension technology, Husqvarna says. With the 2017 Husqvarna TC 85, they give Husqvarna a full range of motocross models that includes 125cc, 250cc and 300cc two-strokes as well as 250cc, 350cc and 450cc four-strokes.

Mass centralization is a key design feature of the 2017 Husqvarna TC 50. Its engine features a three-shaft design with the goal being to move the TC 50’s crankshaft closer to the bike’s center of gravity. Power is fed to the rear wheel via a centrifugal clutch. For new riders, Husqvarna Accessories offers a power reduction kit, which lowers peak power to 5.5 horsepower.

Mimicking its older siblings, the TC 50’s suspension includes an air fork. The bike is fitted with a WP AER 35 fork up front and a fully adjustable WP monoshock out back. The bodywork of the TC 50 also resembles that of the larger Husqvarna motocross models.

Once moto kids are ready to step up from the TC 50, Husqvarna provides a machine that can help develop their skills even more, the 2017 TC 65. Featuring a six-speed gearbox and a manual hydraulic clutch, the TC 65 gets as close to Husqvarna’s full-size motocross machines as possible.
The TC 65’s two-stroke engine incorporates a pressure controlled exhaust valve (PCEV) that, the company says, offers performance characteristics unrivalled in the 65cc class. The TC 65’s WP Performance-manufactured chassis consists of a high-strength steel frame and a lightweight aluminum subframe and a cast aluminum swingarm that are designed to provide optimized handling characteristics.

Same as the TC 50, the TC 65 features WP suspension components that include an AER 35 air fork up front and a fully adjustable WP shock linked directly to the swingarm out back. Front and rear suspension travel measures 8.5 inches and 10.6 inches respectively.
The TC 65’s bodywork also reflects Husqvarna’s larger machines, featuring the same contact points and ergonomic characteristics, according to Husqvarna. The graphics on both the TC 50 and TC 65 minicycles are applied using in-mould technology for optimal durability.
