Rocky Mountain ATV/MC and reigning World Off-Road Championship Series (WORCS) number one plate holder Robby Bell announced today that they have reached an agreement that will see the giant Utah-based motorcycle and ATV parts and accessories supplier serve as the title sponsor of Bell’s Precision Concepts racing team for the 2016 off-road racing series.

The Rocky Mountain ATV/MC Precision Concepts team plans to contest multiple major off-road motorcycle racing series in the western United States, including the 2016 WORCS, the Big 6 Grand Prix Series, the AMA West Coast Hare Scrambles Championship Series and the SRT/AMA National Championship Hare and Hound Series. The team will feature three riders, including Bell, Justin Seeds and Justin Morgan (who replaces Ricky Brabec). Bell is a two-time and defending WORCS champion, a former Big 6 GP champion and three-time SCORE Baja 1000 winner. Seeds is a three-time Lake Elsinore GP winner. Morgan has a SCORE Baja 500 win (in 2015) to his credit

Bell told DirtBikes.com that he and Precision Concepts are grateful for the opportunity to represent Rocky Mountain ATV/MC at major off-road races in the western United States.

“Rocky Mountain ATV/MC’s support is definitely going to improve our effort,” Bell said. “To have a relationship with such a large and recognizable company in the motorcycle industry is big for us, and we are looking forward to racing in 2016 with their support.”

The plan calls for Bell and Seeds to contest the WORCS and Big 6 series, while Morgan will focus on the AMA West Coast Hare Scrambles Series. Tentative plans call for a team effort at the 24 Hours of Glen Helen and also an appearance at the Lake Elsinore Grand Prix.

The team does not plan to race in either of the two major desert series–SCORE or Best in the Desert–in 2016.

“A lot that decision is base on logistics,” Bell said. “With SCORE being a five-race series, all of it south of the border, that adds a lot of expense to the budget. We were open to it, but we just felt we couldn’t commit to the kind of effort that we would need to be successful in that series, to do it they way we want to do it. Leaving Best in the Desert comes down to scheduling conflicts and sponsor obligations that are pulling us away from the desert races and moving more in the direction of closed-course off-road events. It’s a bummer, because we really enjoy the Best in the Desert series, and we love all the people who are involved in it. It was just a business decision.”

Bell also said the team has currently been in talks that could see it receive support from a different manufacturer in 2016, although his optimism is guarded.

“We have talked with some people, but as of right now our plan is to start the year with Justin Seeds and myself on KX450Fs while Justin Morgan will race a YZ450F,” Bell said. “If I had to give you an answer right now, we are planning on staying with that, but there is a possibility that something could change there. It’s a slim possibility, but it’s there.”

Wherever the team races, however, and regardless of what brand, Bell said that the Rocky Mountain ATV/MC Precision Concepts team is committed to being a force in the series it contests, starting with Bell’s own effort to defend his 2015 WORCS title.

“That’s the plan,” Bell said. “I feel stronger now than I ever have, and I am really looking forward to a strong 2016. We want the Rocky Mountain ATV/MC Precision Concepts team to have a dominant presence on the West Coast. I think our new rig is going to blow everyone away. Our goal is to be one of the marquis teams at any off-road event and challenge the KTM and Husqvarna factory teams. We are looking forward to it.”

“We’re happy to be able to team up with Robby Bell and serve as the title sponsor of the Precision Concepts race team,” said Dan Thomas, CEO and Founder of Rocky Mountain ATV/MC. “The team has performed incredibly in the past, and we’re excited to see what the coming year brings.”

The Rocky Mountain ATV/MC Precision Concepts team’s first race of the new year will be the opening round of the 2016 WORCS at Honolulu Hills Raceway in Taft, California, January 8-10.
