3. Larry Roeseler
With 10 overall wins in the Baja 1000 and 12 overall wins in the Baja 500, Larry Roeseler is the man that Johnny Campbell had to beat in order to become the winningest motorcycle racer in SCORE Baja history. Not only that, but “LR” scored his Baja wins on more brands than any other rider in history, including Husqvarna, Harley-Davidson (yep, it’s true), Yamaha and Kawasaki, and his time at the top spanned three of the five decades in which desert racing has existed, the 1970s, ‘80s and ‘90s. Roeseler’s 10th and final Baja 1000 came in 1994, after which he retired from two wheels to pursue a career on four wheels where he went on to dominate again, posting even more Baja overall wins. Roeseler was also a successful AMA District 37 desert racer, landing in a tie for 10th on the all-time race winner’s list, with 23 wins. He was inducted into the AMA Hall of Fame in 1999.
