Former FIM Observed Trials Champion Marc Colomer will be part of the trials motorcycle development department for Gas Gas.
The revived Gas Gas motorcycle brand of Spain has announced that it has hired countryman Marc Colomer to join the trial development department. The Colomer and the Girona finalized the agreement yesterday.
Colomer brings a wealth of experience in what makes a winning trials motorcycle to a brand that prides itself on building championship-winning machines. Following the recent acquisition of Gas Gas by Torrot Electric, incorporating Colomer has been one of the first decisions in the process of relaunching Gas Gas in the world of observed trials, a discipline that Gas Gas calls part of its DNA.
Colomer’s impressive professional career began with bicycles, particularly in the Trialsín where he won his first two World Championships. Switching to motorcycles, he went on to land many more titles including the title of FIM World Champio in 1996. Colomer was also very successful in the X-trial indoor style of competition, landing three consecutive indoor World Championship titles between 1994 and 1996. Gas Gas says that his indelible link to the sport throughout his career makes Colomer a natural fit with Gas Gas as it plans to re-establish its TXT line, particularly the TXT Pro 300 model, prominently in the sport.
