The BlueRibbon Coalition/Sharetrails.org (BRC) has announced that it was contacted by some of the organization’s members who heard rumors that a land transfer bill, H.R. 2733, may include portions of the Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) Moon Rocks/Hungry Valley OHV Area near Reno, Nevada.

According to the BRC, the concern was that the this land transfer would result in the closure of the OHV area.

BRC says that it has contacted both the BLM and Congressional Representatives to determine the potential impact to legal OHV recreation at Moon Rocks. As a result, BRC has obtained a map that more clearly defines the project area. (See link below.)

It appears as though the proposed land transfer acreage is located well south of the Moon Rocks/Hungry Valley OHV Area, but BRC has stated that it will continue to monitor the issue and provide more information out next week.
