The new Husqvarna US off-road racing team is already off to a great start in 2014, celebrating its victory with Jacob Argubright, who rode his factory Hussqvarna FC450 to a commanding win at the opening round of the AMA West Hare Scrambles Championship Series at Arizona Cycle Park in Buckeye, Arizona, on this weekend.

Argubright opened up a near two-minute lead over the field by the time he reached the checkered flag on the GP-style course, and lapped all the way up to fifth place by the finish of the 2.5-hour race.

“I was pretty nervous for my first race with factory Husqvarna,” Argubright said. “The first couple laps didn’t go as I planned, and then I finally loosened up. I feel like I really got used to my FC 450 in that race; it worked great all day.”

Argubright celebrated the win whilst reaching another milestone on the same weekend – his 23rd birthday on January 4.

“I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate my birthday,” Argubright said. “It was a great start to my season and I’m looking forward to keeping the Husky on top in the 2014 season!”

Argubright’s season continues later this month with the opening round of the FMF/GPR AMA Hare & Hound National Championship Series on January 25.
