Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green once again put together a strong week at the 2015 Monster Energy Mammoth Motocross in Mammoth Lakes, California, June 19-28.

After three days of 250cc and 450cc motos, Team Greens Austin Forkner took home two championships, in the Schoolboy 2 and 250B/C classes, while teammates Mark Worth, Darian Sanayei, Jordan Bailey and Mitchell Harrison all finished within the top 10.

Due to a drought in California, the Mammoth track became a dust bowl at times, and it was the course became tremendously rough. Heat and humidity and also made for a very long week for the racers and teams.

Forkner came into Mammoth with a lot of confidence and he set the pace on day one by dominating the Schoolboy 2 class, winning both his qualifier and the main event. Forkner suffered a setback on day two when he crashed and suffered a DNF, but he rebounded on day three to win the 250 B/C class for his second championship of the week.

Worth raced the Open Pro classes all three days, finishing second overall on day one. A crash late in Moto 1 on day two dropped him to fifth in the moto, but he grabbed the holeshot in Moto Two and pulled clear of the field to go 5-1 for second overall. Day three was much of the same for Worth as he finishes second overall in the 450 Open Pro class, going 2-2.

Sanayei came into Mammoth fighting an illness, and he struggled at first, crashing on day one in the Open Pro class and finishing 25th. His performances would improve over the next two days, as he scored 4-4 finishes on day two for fourth overall in the 250 Open Pro class. Sanayei carried that momentum into day three’s 450 Open Pro class where he netted a qualifier win finished third main event, resulting in third overall.

Bailey was consistent all week, qualifying second in Schoolboy 2 and following it up with a fourth in the main on day one. On day two, Bailey finished a solid fifth overall in the 250 B class. He then raced the Open B/C class on day three where he finished fifth overall again.

Crashes hampered Harrison’s performances for most of the week. Day one marked his best performance of the week as he qualified fourth in the Open Pro class and followed it up with a fourth in the main. Unfortunately, after getting a great start on day two in Moto 1, Harrison crashed and fell back to eighth. Moto 2 was also tough, as Harrison finished sixth. A collision with another rider in Moto 1 on day three left Harrison with an injured hand, but he rode through the pain to finish inside the top 10 in Moto 2 and land seventh overall in the 450 Open Pro class.
