BAJA RALLY SCHEDULE

Thursday October 3: San Nicolas Hotel, Ensenada
5:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m.: Welcome Ceremony and Media Reception
Baja Rally will host a special ceremony to thank the Ensenada Municipality and agencies for supporting the BAJA RALLY. Riders will be present with their rally bikes on display. A no-host buffet dinner will immediately follow the reception.
***Special Room Rate $62.00 (US) for 2 large Beds. Come see why San Nicolas is known as the classiest hotel in Ensenada.

Friday Oct 4: El Palomar Campgrounds, Santo Tomas, BC
(Medium strength cell signal- no Wi-Fi)
9:00 a.m.: Check-in, Registration and Technical Inspection Opens
(BAJA RALLY officials’ compound located at bottom of entrance driveway)

4:00 p.m.: Deadline for all participants to “check in”. All participants and their bikes must be present and ready for registration and inspection (time penalties apply for late check-in, minute for minute)
***Road books for day 1 will issued at 4:00PM for registered riders, thereafter as riders clear tech inspection.

6:00 p.m.: Registration and inspection closes

6:30 p.m.: Mandatory riders meeting located at dance floor inside campground
(support crews and media welcome)
***DISQUALIFICATION for missing

7:30 p.m.: Mandatory ***riders’ dinner located inside El Palomar Restaurant
***Registered riders ONLY; Absolutely NO support crew, families or media.
***SPECIAL road book review will take place prior to dinner being served
Riders will choose between 3 meal options at check in.
***1-hour penalty for being late
***DISQUALIFICATION for missing

7:30 p.m.: Support crew meeting at dance floor inside campground
***Support crews will be briefed on the safety, compliance, service route and bivouacs

9:30 p.m.: Pre-Rally activities conclude. Campground goes on quiet mode, no music.

Saturday October 5th: El Palomar Campground, Santo Tomas, BC
5:00 a.m.: Food service opens inside campgrounds.
Buffet style breakfast with fruit, oatmeal, yogurt, scrambled eggs, toast.
***Complimentary for registered riders and BAJA RALLY officials.

6:00 a.m.: Riders meeting. Final safety comments and Q&A.
(support crews and media welcome)

6:30 a.m.: Staging begins for Day 1 (TBA)
*Start of special stage 1 (TBA) will be within 1 mile of campground.
Riders receive their check-in GPS units and special way point notes.

7:00 a.m.: Start of special stage 1- First 20 bikes leave the start spaced by 2 minute gaps. Last 20 bikes leave the start spaced by 1-minute gaps.

8:00 a.m.: All bikes have departed

Saturday October 5: El Paraiso Hotel- Colonet, BC
(Strong cell signal, hosted Wi-Fi)

10:00 a.m.: Bivouac opens to support crews, parking spaces assigned (TBD)
***Bivouac area will be secured and closed to non wrist-banded spectators

1:30 p.m.: Estimated arrival of first bikes to finish.
***Arriving riders processed through post-stage compliance procedure, GPS units and road books confiscated. Day 2 road books issued during this process.

Hotel rooms assigned to riders (TBA)
***Re-fueling service open

4:00 p.m.: Food service opens to riders and support crews.
***Complimentary for registered riders and BAJA RALLY officials.

8:00 p.m.: Official times and results posted for day 1.
Optional post-stage riders meeting

9:30 p.m.: Food service closes

10:00 p.m.: Bivouac goes on quiet mode. No music.

Sunday, October 6th El Paraiso Hotel- Colonet, BC

5:00 a.m.: Food service opens
***Complimentary for registered riders and BAJA RALLY officials.

6:00 a.m.: Mandatory riders meeting located inside El Paraiso restaurant
***Riders only. Official starting order finalized.

6:30 a.m.: Staging begins for day 2. Starting order determined by lowest net cumulative elapsed time from day 1 (includes any time penalties)
Riders receive their check-in GPS units and special way point notes.

7:00 a.m.: Start of Day 2- First 20 bikes leave the start spaced by 2 minutes Last 20 bikes leave the start spaced by 1-minute.

8:00 a.m.: All bikes have departed for day 2

Sunday October 6th Santa Maria Hotel- San Quintin, BC

10:00 a.m.: Bivouac opens to support crews, parking spaces assigned (TBD)
***Bivouac area will be secured and closed to non wrist-banded spectators

1:30 p.m.: Estimated arrival of first bikes to finish.
***Arriving riders processed through post-stage compliance procedure, GPS units and road books confiscated. Hotel rooms assigned to riders (TBA)

4:00 p.m.: Food service opens to riders and support crews.
***Complimentary for registered riders and BAJA RALLY officials.

6:00 p.m.: Official times and results begin to be posted for event.
Optional post-stage riders meeting

6:30 p.m.: Mandatory press conference for top 5 finishers
Located inside media center.

7:30 p.m.: Award Ceremony

9:30 p.m.: Complimentary food service closes.

10:00 p.m.: Baja Rally officially concludes.
