American Flat Track Season Finale Set For Southern California Fair

The 18th and final round of the 2017 American Flat Track Series is set to roll at Perris Auto Speedway during the Southern California Fair.

(Perris, CA, October 3, 2017)–The biggest motorsports event at the 104th Southern California Fair on the SoCal Fair and Event Center, the “Cycle Gear American Flat Track Finals Presented by Indian Motorcycle,” will take place this Saturday night, October 7, on the Budweiser Arena Oval at Perris Auto Speedway. Gates will open for the fair at 11 a.m. and opening ceremonies for the race will be at 6 p.m.

In a throwback to the old days, fans can enjoy a full day of entertainment. Before and after the races there will be all the amenities of the fair including music, carnival rides, displays, an Oktoberfest and of course, great fair food.

“Fans can come in early, spend hours having fun at the fair and then sit down and watch the race at 6 p.m.,” Southern California Fair CEO Cark Wuersch said. “After the races, everyone will be able to head onto the fairgrounds for another round at the fair. It is a throwback to the old days of the fair circuits in the Midwest. It will be a day that will be full of great racing and fun for the entire family”

Such modern-day heroes as Jared Mees, Bryan Smith, Brad Baker, Sam Halbert and Briar Bauman will be in action on the track, and past stars such as co-Grand Marshals Sammy Tanner and Ronnie Jones, along with Eddie Wirth, Eddie Mulder and Gene Romero will be signing autographs at the Ascot Motorsports booth before the races.

As well as all the exhibits at the fair, Chris Agajanian and Elliott Iverson have lined up some great looking vintage motorcycles that will be on display just behind the grandstands. There will be three or four 1930s and ’40s Indian Scouts, a Trackmaster Yamaha 250, Trackmaster Triumph 750, Shell Yamaha 750, Shell Yamaha 500, Wood-Rotax 600 and Honda 350 National number one.

Advance tickets for the race, which will feature the best flat track racers from across North America, are on sale now.  Ascot throwback ticket prices are only $20.00 for reserved seats which includes a $10.00 ticket to the Southern California Fair. General admission tickets are just $5.00 and require the purchase of a $10.00 fair admission. On race day, gates for the fair will open at 11 a.m.  Gates to the track modeled after Ascot will open at 2 p.m.  Practice will begin when the gates open with qualifying at 2:40 p.m. The first AFT Twin heat race is slated for 6:30 p.m.
