The National Park Service (NPS) has released the Off-road Vehicle Management Plan/Draft Environmental Impact Statement (Plan/DEIS) for Glen Canyon National Recreation Area (Glen Canyon). They have announced a series of open houses, scheduled for the month of February.

The public is welcome and encouraged to attend one of the following open houses to find out more about the Plan/DEIS and the alternatives:

Tuesday, February 4, 2014, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Blanding Arts and Events Center, located at 639 West 100 South, Blanding, UT

Wednesday, February 5, 2014, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Escalante Interagency Visitor Center, located at 755 W. Main, Escalante, UT

Thursday, February 6, 2014, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Kanab Middle School, located at 690 S. Cowboy Way, Kanab, UT

Tuesday, February 11, 2014, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Glen Canyon National Recreation Area Headquarters, located at 691 Scenic View Drive, Page, AZ

Thursday, February 13, 2014, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Utah Department of Natural Resource, located at 1594 W. North Temple, Salt Lake City, UT

NPS staff will make a short presentation at 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. You may provide written comments in person at the Open House. See the Plan/DEIS website at http://parkplanning.nps.gov/glca-orvplan for any changes in information on times and locations.
Comments should be submitted online using the NPS Planning, Environment and Public Comment (PEPC) system. Written comments may also be submitted to: Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, ORV Plan/DEIS, PO Box I 507, Page, AZ 86040-1507 or delivered to Glen Canyon headquarters at 691 Scenic View Drive, Page, AZ. Comments must be received or postmarked no later than March 4, 2014. Comments should NOT be submitted by email.

Printed copies of the Plan/DEIS are available at some local libraries (Page, Blanding, Escalante and Kanab). For additional assistance in obtaining a copy of the Plan/DEIS, please contact them at (928) 608-6209 or via email at brian_carey@nps.gov.
