Factory TM rider Eero Remes of Finland swept to victory in the Enduro 1 class, and his winning times also topped all others to net Remes his first EnduroGP win of the season at the GP of Greece, round three of the FIM Enduro World Championship, in Grevena, Greece, last weekend.

Heavy rain throughout Day One left the enduro route slick and technicals, but defending FIM Enduro 1 World Champion Remes had no issues as he ran at the top of the time charts on his TM 250F and capped the day’s win with a stand-out performance in the final special test of the day. FIM World Enduro rookie Nathan Watson finished second overall and Matthew Phillips, who has an EnduroGP win under his belt this season already, finished third overall.

But although Remes ultimately prevailed, the battle for overall honors was contested among four riders during the day. Rockstar Energy Husqvarna’s Mathias Bellino led early before Beta’s Steve Holcombe took the overall lead, but both men would be derailed by mistakes on the course, allowing Phillips to move into first place. However, Remes had a strong finish, becoming the only rider in the field to card a sub-9-minute time in the final special test, and that vaulted him to the top of the overall standings. Remes finished 14 seconds ahead of Watson and 34 seconds ahead of Phillips.

Remes also won the Enduro 1 class by the same margin over Watson, while Phillips claimed the win in the Enduro 2 class. Holcombe won the Enduro 3 class.

Remes came back just as strong on Day Two, battling with Beta’s Johnny Aubert and Yamaha’s Loic Larrieu. Remes set pace by topping the time sheets in the first three special test of the day. The second half of the day didn’t go as well for the Finn, who had to soldier on with damaged suspension in extremely rutty conditions, but he was able to retain enough of a time advantage to claim the overall win.

Aubert, who was fifth overall on Day One, finished Day Two just seven seconds behind Remes after excellent rides during laps two and three. Larrieu had to overcome a big crash in the first special test, and he lost about 30 seconds before battling back on laps two and three to move past American hope Taylor Robert for the Enduro 2 win and third overall.

Remes once again claimed the Enduro 1 win, and Aubert won the Enduro 3 class.
