James Stewart Re-Signs With Yoshimura Suzuki

According to a release by Yoshimura Suzuki, Two-time Monster Energy AMA Supercross and multi-time AMA Motocross champion James Stewart has signed a contract to remain with the team through the 2015 racing season. Stewart, who joined Yoshimura Suzuki mid-season in 2012 and will continue to race in the premier 450cc classes in both Monster Energy AMA Supercross and Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship.

Yoshimura Suzuki Factory Racing team manager Mike Webb said that working with Stewart has been a tremendously gratifying experience.

“We’ve really begun gelling as a team and I feel like we’re just now approaching our true potential,” Webb said. “Everyone at Yoshimura Suzuki is looking forward to working with James through the 2014 and 2015 racing seasons, and possibly beyond.”

Stewart scored his first win of 2014 at the San Diego Supercross last weekend, marking That result marked his 46th career Supercross victory. He is currently fourth in the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship points standings. Additionally this year, Stewart has earned three heat race wins and two second-place main event finishes in Supercross.

“I’m really happy to keep racing with Yoshimura Suzuki,” Stewart said. “It was great to get that first win at San Diego last weekend. I feel more comfortable than ever with the team and we’ve gotten the set-up on the Yoshimura Suzuki RM-Z450 dialed in to where I feel really good on the bike. This year, we’ve made a lot of progress as a team and I’m looking forward to keeping that momentum going through the rest of the year and next season.”

Yoshimura Suzuki’s next event will be round seven of the 2014 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship on Saturday, February 15, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
