MX Sports Pro Racing and the National Promoter’s Group (NPG) have announced a new partnership with the Great American Food Drive (TGAFD), a national food drive benefitting food banks across the country, for the 2014 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship.

As a part of its 2014 America’s Food Drive National Tour, the Great American Food Drive will visit every round of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship this season. TGAFD will provide a donation booth at each National where fans can bring non-perishable food items to be distributed locally. All of the food and 100 percent of the monetary donations collected at each National will be donated to local food banks or local food pantries.

Chris Plumtree, President and CEO of The Great American Food Drive, said that the Lucas Oil Series’ assistance is greatly appreciated.

“We are all very grateful to the tremendous efforts of our national partners Lucas Oil, Protect the Harvest, Comcast-NBC, and Printscape, as well our new national partner MX Sports in helping us in our cause to help Americans in need of assistance,” Plumtree said. “We believe that it is important that the members of the local community who attend our events can have confidence that their food or monetary donations will stay right in their own hometown, making a difference in the lives of their neighbors who are in need of emergency food assistance.”

Some of the food banks that are expected to benefit from the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross tour include the Sacramento Food Bank of California, The Food Bank of Central and North East Missouri, The Food Bank of the Rockies in Colorado, Gleaners of Indiana, The Red Cross Food Pantry of Bowling Greene and Franklin, Kentucky, The Food Pantries of Morgantown, West Virginia, The Greene County Food Bank, and others. The Great American Food Drive’s goal is to bring Americans together on a local and national level to form a united front in the fight against hunger in America.
