Day One of the International Six Days Enduro (ISDE) in Sardinia completed today with defending World Trophy Team Champions France picking up where they left off in 2012 by taking the event lead. But there was good news for Team USA fans as well, as the American squad finished Day One in second place overall.

World Trophy
A rainy day yesterday meant a dust-free course today, and Team France took full advantage of it to complete Day One’s course with and elapsed time of 4 hours, 14 minutes, 26.00 seconds. The team was bolstered by the excellent performance of reigning FIM E1 Enduro World Championship Antoine Meo, who posted the best times in special tests 4 and 5.

But Team USA got off to a very good start as well, with team member Taylor Robert ending Day One as the top American, in sixth place, overall, after posting a win in the final special test of the day first in last. The rest of Team USA also turned in solid performances. Charlie Mullins (KTM), Mike Brown (KTM), and Kurt Caselli (KTM) also turned in solid performance. Mullins finished ninth, , while Brown finished 11th and Caselli finished 15th. Zach Osborne (Hon) finished 17th, and Thad DuVall (Hon) was 27th.
Team Australia currently sits in third place with team rider Daniel Milner leading the individual rider classification.

Junior World Trophy

The French Junior World Trophy Team took the lead in the Junior World Trophy standings as well, finishing ahead of Team Italy. Team USA is also off to a good start in the Junior World Trophy chase with a third-place finish after Day One. Kailub Russell (KTM) leads the individual standings by a minute and a half advantage over France’s Loic Larrieu. Jesse Groemm (Yam) finished 10th, Andrew DeLong (Hus) 16th and Grant Baylor (KTM) 22nd.

Women World Trophy
Team Australia moved into the lead for the Women’s World Trophy when Day One concluded. Team Sweden is second, followed by Team France.

Club and Team
The Italian Vittorio Alfieri Team topped of the charts among the club teams, leading the German DMSB Team 1 by 8 minutes. Another Italian team, Torre della Meloria, is third.
