Triumph Riders to Race X Games Flat Track

Triumph riders Brandon Robinson and Jake Shoemaker will be part of the all-star flat track roster at the inaugural X Games Flat Track Racing event at the Circuit Of The Americas in Austin, Texas, June 4.

Robinson and Shoemaker have accepted their invitations to the invite-only event is anticipating 23 riders from AMA Pro Flat Track’s GNC1 class competing for a coveted X Games gold medal. The complete schedule will also host its perennial Moto X event.

“I’m really looking forward to competing in the X Games,” said Robinson, who rides for the Latus Motors Racing/Castrol Triumph team. “It’s huge, not only for the athletes and teams lucky enough to be invited, but for the sport of flat track. I can’t wait to get out there and contend for a medal.”

The X Games will take place after a busy time on the GNC schedule, as rounds three and four will run in the two prior weekends leading up to the X Games; the Springfield Mile is scheduled for May 23 and the Sacramento Mile for May 30.

“The X Games produces a lot of excitement, and I have high hopes it will do the same with flat track,” said Shoemaker, who rides the #55 Bonneville Performance/Castrol Triumph. “It’s a different venue with a different crowd, and the track layout should suit my style. I’m pumped to get out there.”

The X Games Flat Track is scheduled to air on ESPN at 9pm EDT, Thursday, June 4. Single-event, single day and three-day tickets are available for purchase at www.XGamesAustin.com. ESPN and ABC will televise a combined 20 hours of live X Games competition, which will also be accessible via WatchESPN.com.
