Honda CRF230F – $4,349
Best Beginner Dirtbikes

The Honda CRF230F is a shoo-in for our Best Beginner Dirtbikes for Adults list because it offers a full-size frame that works well for larger and/or heavier beginner riders while remaining extremely fun and easy to ride. Its Honda’s 223cc two-valve SOHC air-cooled four-stroke single produces plenty of torque, which makes it easy to ride, and its electric starter makes getting going even easier. The CRF230L has a smooth-shifting six-speed transmission and manual clutch, and its suspension delivers 9.4 inches of travel front and rear while the CRF’s 34.6-inch seat height shouldn’t be too tall for inseam-challenged beginners. Like the Yamaha and Kawasakis, the CRF230F features full-sized 21-inch front and 18-inch rear rims. The CRF230F’s braking is handled by a front disc brake and a rear drum brake, and its ergonomics and bodywork are inspired by the company’s CRF line of motocross machines.
