FMF/RPM/Team Maxxis KTM’s Cody Webb put together a perfect night at the XFINITY Arena in Everett, Washington, to claim the win at round seven of the GEICO AMA EnduroCross Series, Saturday night.

The win helped Webb extend his series points lead over factory Husqvarna rider Colton Haaker, who finished second despite suffering several crashes in the main event. FMF KTM’s Taylor Robert was third.

Webb’s perfect night began when he won heat two and set the fastest time during the Hot Lap portion of the program to earn first pick of the starting gate positions. However, Haaker claimed the Nexen Tire Holeshot award and took the early lead with Husqvarna teammate Mike Brown, Ty Tremaine, Robert and Webb completing the top five. Haaker would lead the first four laps. Webb then began his drive to the front by moving up in the field to third place, and fortune smiled on him when Haaker got stuck in the rocks and held up Brown, which allowed Webb to take over the lead.

Webb then pulled away from the pack, leaving Brown, Haaker and Robert to engage in a dogfight for second place. Webb did have issues in the rocks twice during the final five laps, but he was able to escape both times and preserve a comfortable cushion over his pursuers, and he crossed under the checkered flag to take his third win of the season.

“It was so tough out there, the rocks were so slick,” Webb said. “I was a little upset after Denver because I fell apart at the end so it was great to have a perfect day and get the two extra bonus points and the win.”

Haaker finally settled into second on the last lap but Robert tried to put a pass on Haaker in the rock section just before the finish. The two riders tangled, and both crashed. Haaker was able to recover first and make it across the stripe for the runner-up spot.

“Second wasn’t what I wanted but I had too many mistakes out there,” Haaker said after the race. “I probably fell four times, so I have to be happy to get back to second, but I need to do better than that.”

Brown finshed fourth, ahead of Beta’s Max Gerston, after getting stuck several times. Cory Graffunder finished sixth ahead of Tremaine, Kyle Redmond Noah Kepple and Kevin Rookstool.

Webb now holds an 11-point lead over Haaker. Brown is third, 38 points out of the lead.
