Murrieta, CA, October 28, 2013–Fred Andrews Racing Husqvarna’s Andrew DeLong closed out the 2013 AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country season with another dominant performance in the XC2 Pro Lites class. DeLong tackled the 12-mile course at the Ironman GNCC in Crawfordsville, Indiana, which he called one of the best tracks of the season, and rode to victory with more than two minutes over second place. DeLong’s fourth-consecutive win made for a great end to the 2013 GNCC season, and allowed him to take home third overall in the XC2 Pro Lites championship.

“I came here today with one thing on my mind,” DeLong said. “And I did it. The track was really fun and there were people everywhere watching. It was great to end the season with four wins in a row.”

DeLong started his season with a win-streak, as well, but lost his chance at the XC2 championship after suffering a broken hand in June. The F.A.R. Husqvarna racer sat out multiple rounds due to his injury, but he came back strong to dominate the latter half of the series. In total, DeLong racked up seven victories aboard his Husqvarna TC250R in 2013—more than all other XC2 competitors combined.

“We had a great season with AD this year,” F.A.R. Husqvarna team owner Fred Andrews said at the event. “He made a statement today. I’m really proud of the whole team, and we’re happy to land third in the championship.”

More factory Husqvarna racers were in action over the weekend at the Everett, Washington round of the GEICO AMA EnduroCross series. Cory Graffunder and Jamie Lanza were both in the main event at the fifth stop of the season. Graffunder piloted his TXC310R to a top-five finish on one of the most difficult courses of the season. He put his skills to work on the slippery, rutted course and kept a steady pace to claim fifth.

Two rounds remain in the GEICO AMA EnduroCross series, and Graffunder and Lanza will be looking to finish out their seasons strong at Boise, Idaho, and at the series finale in Las Vegas, Nevada.
