Jason Anderson Signs Extension with Husqvarna

Jason Anderson makes a deal with the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing team that will keep him aboard a factory Husqvarna for four more years.

Jason Anderson is clearly a hot commodity in the AMA professional motocross and supercross ranks these days.

The tenacious New Mexico-born rider showed he would be one to watch as an amateur after scoring no less than five Rocky Mountain ATV/MC Amateur National Motocross Championship titles and earning the prestigious AMA Horizon Award in 2010. After turning pro, Anderson landed a deal with Rockstar Energy Suzuki, and he showed his potential by finishing fifth in the AMA Supercross Lites West Class and eighth in the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross 250 Class in 2012–his second year as a pro. He would finish fourth in the West and eighth again in the outdoors in 2013 before the team switched to KTM for the 2014 season. The new KTM appeared to suit Anderson, who went on to win the 2014 AMA Supercross Lites championship in his final year in the class. When the Rockstar Energy team moved to Husqvarna with full factory backing, Anderson was again slated to ride for the team in his rookie 450cc season.

Anderson has since become the team’s star rider, having won the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series-opening Anaheim Supercross in 2016 and the Las Vegas Supercross in 2017. He has also proven to be formidable in special events, winning one main event at the 2015 Monster Energy Cup and the AUS-X Open in Sydney Australia in 2017.
