Kawasaki had a particularly strong weekend during round four of the AMSOIL AMA Arenacross series at Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina, on Saturday, January 25, as Kawasaki riders dominated the field in both main events.

Kawasaki’s Jacob Hayes and Team Babbitt’s Monster Energy/Amsoil Kawasaki’s Colt Nichols grabbed one main event win each, although Hayes’ 1-2 finishes beat Nichols’ 3-1 to give Hayes his first career AMSOIL Arenacross Series overall win at his hometown race. Kawasaki rider Michael McDade put together 5-3 finishes to complete the podium, while current points leader Zach Ames finished sixth overall to retain the points lead. As a rookie Nichols has had his ups and downs this season and finally found himself on the podium Saturday. The first main saw Nichols trail his two Team Babbitt’s Monster Energy/Amsoil Kawasaki teammates until Bowers crashed and collected the entire team. Hayes took over the lead and went on to claim the win over KTM-mounted Travis Sewell. Nichols was able to get going again, and he salvaged third place at the checkered flag.

In the second main event, Nichols grabbed the holeshot and led wire to wire to take his first career AMSOIL Arenacross main event win. Hayes and McDade finished second and third to ensure an all-Kawasaki sweep of the main event podium and secure the overall round win for Hayes. Kawasaki riders finished in the top six positions in the race.
