Clear Creek, California.

The following is from the BlueRibbon Coalition (BRC) regarding ongoing efforts to reopen the Clear Creek Recreation area near Hollister, California:

The BlueRibbon Coalition/Sharetrails.org (BRC) wants to thank all members of the OHV community who have worked hard over the last 5 years to help create a legislative proposal (H.R. 1838) to reopen the BLM’s Clear Creek Recreation Area near Hollister, California.

According to an announcement from the House Committee on Natural Resources, H.R. 1838 (the bill to reopen Clear Creek to OHV use) will get a markup on March 16, 2016. The legislation will establish the Clear Creek National Recreation Area in San Benito and Fresno Counties, California, to designate the Joaquin Rocks Wilderness in such counties, to designate additional components of the National Wild and Scenic Rivers System, and for other purposes. “Clear Creek National Recreation Area and Conservation Act.”

BRC looks forward to working in collaboration with our partners to see that H.R. 1838 gets enacted in 2016. Stay tuned for more updates on this important legislative effort.
