Sophomore 450cc supercross rider Wil Hahn suffered a season-ending injury during the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series opener at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California, Saturday night.

Hahn, who races for the Monster Energy Kawasaki team, suffered a nasty crash during the first qualifying practice session and was taken to the hospital for further evaluation.

This is the second time that Hahn has suffered a supercross season-ending injury in the span of one year. Hahn broke his humerus in four places and suffered a cracked skull in a bad crash during the 2014 St. Louis Supercross last March. According to a release by his team, Saturday’s crash caused injuries to his arm and back.

Hahn is reportedly in good spirits despite the injury, and he is expected to make a full recovery.
