Kawasaki’s Launch Control System is a great piece of technology that reflects how advanced modern four-stroke dirtbikes have bcome, but Ride Engineering claims that it can improve on the ergonomics of Launch Control-equipped Kawis with its new LED/Kill Switch Kit.

The LED/Kill Switch Kit saves space on the handlebar by replacing the large Launch Control switch and clamp on 2012 and newer KX models, and that leave more room for riders who want to equip their KXs with accessories such as handguards or lap counters. It easily bolts onto any machine that has a 30-32mm span between clamp mounting bolts. For other machines equipped with electric start, a second switch can be added as the start switch simply by bolting it onto the back of the front brake lever.

The LED light is designed specifically for fuel-injected bikes and is used in conjunction with Ride Engineering’s Billet Engine Kill Switch. It features a bright white LED wired to the computer, and the LED flashes when the switch is in launch control mode (KX450F) or when there is a maintenance code in case of bike malfunction, such as with the Honda CR450R.

The Engine Kill Switch and the LED Light are sold separately and are available through motorcycle dealerships nationwide or online at www.ride-engineering.com. The Kill Switch retails for $49.95, and the LED Light retails for $29.95.
