American Honda Motor Corp., Inc., announced today that it has renewed its partnership with the Factory Connection-run GEICO Honda team for an additional three years. Factory Connection’s Honda factory-supported 250cc supercross and motocross effort is now locked in place through the 2017 season.

It’s a long-standing relationship, dating back to 1995, when Factory Connection owners Mike Grondahl, Jeff Majkrzak and Rick Zielfelder began providing the factory team with suspension-related technical support. Factory Connection would go on to take over Honda’s satellite team in 2000, and the relationship has enjoyed consistent success ever since, with the company’s GEICO-backed Honda effort earning nine titles with Justin Barcia, Justin Bogle, Trey Canard, Wil Hahn, Travis Preston and Eli Tomac. Honda is no doubt anticipating more of the same from the Mike LaRocco-managed team, which will do battle in the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series and the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship with riders Matt Bisceglia, Bogle, R.J. Hampshire and Jordon Smith all mounted on Honda CRF250R motorcycles.

Ray Conway, Director of Racing for American Honda, said that the company is very pleased to continue its relationship with GEICO Honda.

“We’ve achieved a lot together over the years, and the team continues to demonstrate that it is second to none in terms of professionalism and capability,” Conway said. “We’re confident that together we can continue adding to our list of accomplishments.”

Factory Connection’s Jeff Majkrzak also commented on the Honda contract renewal.

“We’ve had a long and prosperous relationship with American Honda spanning almost two decades now,” Majkrzak said. “We hope it continues well into the future. It’s an honor to represent Honda and to consistently put the brand on the podium. They have the best motorcycles in the business. We truly feel that we have two of the best names in the industry with GEICO and Honda.”
