ELLENTON, Fla. (November 11, 2016)–As the nation honors the sacrifices of the men and women of the United States Armed Forces on Veterans Day, Feld Entertainment® announced today that Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, will continue its support of service men and women with its Fourth Annual Military Appreciation Race. San Diego’s Petco Park will remain the home of this popular community service initiative, which will once again partner with United Service Organizations (USO) San Diego, a nonprofit organization serving active-duty, reserve, guard and military families throughout California’s southernmost county. The event will commence on Saturday, January 14, for the second race of the 2017 season, airing live on FS1.

Monster Energy Supercross is the world’s premier off-road motorcycle championship and each year the close-knit racing community rallies together in support of this important cause, with countless motorcycles sporting military inspired livery and numerous competitors adorning themselves in patriotic riding gear. San Diego is home to several of the country’s largest and most important military installations, and since the event’s inception in 2014 the Military Appreciation Race has raised more than $100,000 in direct support of military service organizations in San Diego, including more than $30,000 last year alone.

The excitement generated by the one-of-a-kind specialty pieces of gear and bike graphics are annually made tangible to the millions of supercross enthusiasts around the world with the official Military Appreciation Race post-event auction, which will begin Monday, January 16. Fans will have the opportunity to bid on exclusive race-worn gear from the San Diego event and genuine race-used motorcycle parts from the biggest names and teams in the sport, including reigning back-to-back champion Ryan Dungey, Ken Roczen, Eli Tomac, Chad Reed, Justin Barcia, Cooper Webb, and more. The auction will be hosted by USO San Diego, which will receive 100 percent of the proceeds.

“USO San Diego is honored to once again be the beneficiary of the 2017 Monster Energy Supercross Military Appreciation Race and its incredibly supportive community of fans, teams and riders,” said Arne Nelson, USO San Diego Chief Executive Officer. “The funds raised will provide much-needed support for our free programs and services offered to the region’s Active Duty, Reserve, Guard, and their families. We hope to see you all there!”

Members of the military can receive $10 off select tickets by using the code USOSD (additional fees may apply). Additionally, all military members will receive free access to the Pit Party with valid identification (limit one entry per ID).
