EnduroCross Champion Cody Webb is “movin’ on up” to a deluxe factory ride with KTM.
KTM Motorsports today announced that it has signed a two-year deal with reigning AMA EnduroCross Champion Cody Webb that will see him aboard FMF KTM Factory Racing machines through the 2017 racing season.
Webb will ride KTM 250 XC-Fs in the GEICO AMA EnduroCross Series, and he will also continue to contest the FIM SuperEnduro World Championship.
FMF KTM Factory Racing Team Manager Antti Kallonen said that KTM feels Webb will be a great addition to the factory team.
“He [Webb] has proven himself over the past few years of racing, and we feel he will represent us well in all extreme races as well as the EnduroCross Series and X-Games event,” Kallonen said.
Webb has been with the factory-supported RPM KTM team in 2015, and he is currently on pace to defend his GEICO AMA EnduroCross title with them.
“It was always our intention to groom Cody on that team and move him up to the factory team when ready,” Kallonen said. “The RPM KTM Team and those of us at the factory feel that the timing is right. They have had a great season together, and we are very proud of the success the RPM KTM Team has accomplished this year with Cody at the helm.”
Webb said that he is excited to become a member of the KTM factory effort.
“It has been my dream since I first started racing EnduroCross to be on the elite team and with the KTM family,” Webb said. “I know that with the experience of the successful race team my results will improve and I can strive for more championships.”
